Today had an awesome start for Skip. He was promoted to Staff Sgt. YAY!!! He's been working for months to get it. It was well deserved.
By this afternoon he was demoted. Oh yes, demoted. Not for any kind of doing of his own. The retard that was supposed to verify all his points missed a page that wasn't signed by the right person. So instead of seeing it over a week ago, they let him go thru the whole ceremony today. Instead of letting it be and getting the right signature on it they tell him he will have to wait until next month now.
So next month Skip will be promoted, again. Yea hows that for shitty HR.

I must Bitch about something
Well first off I have to give some history so everyone understands why I have such a complaint.
To start I have know Christa since 2002. That's Thomas' mom. In the time I have known her she has had dogs that she has always gotten rid of because she cant/won't train them. When I met her she had Spike, She moved to New Mexico for less than a year where she had a basset hound and some rat dog that Icant be sure of( that's 3), she got a Lhasa apso(coco) and her house mate a shih tzu who she got rid of within a week, but kept CoCo. That's 5. Then she got a golden mix puppy 2 falls ago and got rid of it in about 2 weeks. Now we are at 6. Just this past summer she got Sophie a carin/scottish terrier mix. She got rid of CoCo about 3 months ago because she didn't get along with the puppy. And just one week ago she got rid of Sophie. Now that's 7 dogs if you were keeping count. None of these dogs lived to old age with her and they were all disposed off because of A) potty training issues B) not leash trained and C) not socialized. All things dogs cannot learn on their own. They require us to teach them the proper habits that will make us happy.
Ok, now you have that down, Skip and I have had Yoshi for just over a week now and he was not a random purchase. A TON of research and discussion went into that investment because we intend to keep our dog until he croaks. We have plenty of training ahead of us and our nerves will be tested for AT LEAST the next 2 years while he grows up. But here we are ready for it and prepared for it all. No matter how gruesome it could get.
Sunday morning Christa calls and asks if they can take Aiden to the flea market. I agree because he likes to go and I wasn't going to really be making it out that day. Too much to do around here. She picks him up at about 11. At roughly 1 or 2 I miss a phone call from Christa and she leaves me a voice mail, " Christine! It's Christa, I know you guys have a dog, but there's this lady at the flea market selling BEAUTIFUL white huskies!!! She says they are $350, but she will sell them for $100!!! Call me back."
Now, I assume if I don't call her back she will figure out I don't want/need another dog. There's dam good reason I have an ALASKAN MALAMUTE and not a retarded husky. I can't stand the breed. Fast forward to about 3 when I miss yet another call from Christa and the following message is left this time,"Christine, it's Christa. Call me have something to tell you."
I have the message on speaker and at this point Skip and I are looking at each other with the same " Oh Fuck" look.
The damn women bought one of those dogs. Her other dog wasn't even gone a week and she got another one. And this time its a dog that will never come close to trained. She got this dog at the flea market without even a second of research. No preparations. No idea. This makes dog number 8. And as usual anymore she gets a female because she entertains this thought that she can breed them and make money. None of her dogs have ever been altered. Thankfully none of them have ever been bred either.
If you know me then you know how bad I am stewing over this. I went over today to pick up Aiden and the dog jumps like crazy. She has Aiden scarred that he's going to get jumped on and hurt. Yoshi has yet to jump up once since we have had him, but we also don't encourage it and correct it before it has a chance to happen. I was pissed when Aiden reacted to his dog running up to say hi. He thought he was going to jump up and hurt him.
I'm just about speechless at it all. I simply cannot believe the stupidity of it. And stupid is the only word that really fits it.

Mental Health Day
Sometimes people need a day off because they just don't feel like they can be of good use to their company. Today was one of those days for me. I'm lucky enough to have a job that I can call up and Flex my hours. I have to work a couple extra hours a day for the rest of the week, but that's ok it's worth it.
Here's how my day got started. Skip had to be up at 3:30 this morning because he had a mandatory formation downtown for the annual pancake breakfast that kicks off the Pike's Peak or Bust Rodeo. So this meant Yoshi was up crying to go potty and so I was up also. As usual I just go outside in my dark back yard in a pair of boxers and a t-shirt. While I was telling Yoshi to " GO POTTY" heard the cat's bell out there. She hasn't taken too well to the new addition and hides all the time. We had to rescue her from the neighbor's yard on our right a couple days ago. Well as I am listening to the meows getting more frantic I realize she is in the yard behind us. With a wood fence it's not usually too bad a problem because I can get her to climb up and grab her, the catcher here is the fence behind us is about 7 1/2 feet tall, white and made of PLASTIC. No way in hell to get that cat up the side of a plastic fence at 3:30 in the morning when its still dark out. So I had to leave her to cry until I could go and ask for my cat back. I did however stick a note on their fence asking them to toss my cat back over if they get to her before I do.
Now we are at 4 am and Skip leaves to go do his thing with pancakes and I think I am going to put the pup back in the kennel for a little shut eye for an hour. WRONG. He cried and hollered for 45 minutes. I took a shower instead and started thinking about how badly I wasn't going to want to be at work. At 5:30 I take Yoshi back out to potty and the stupid cat is still crying and now I am getting more worried because I didn't want the people to call the Humane Society and have her sent there where she would certainly catch some illness. UGH. I take Aiden to Christa's house at 6. At this point I get in my car and call my Resource Planning dept and tell them I am having a bad morning and I need to work my hours during a different time. VIOLA! I have the day off and no bad attendance record. I went to Wal-Mart for oven cleaner and gloves because I decided today was the day the apartment gets cleaned and the keys get turned in. I did see Skip driving back home and decided to get my stuff and head back to the house to get some time in with him before getting dirty.
Sometime between 630 and 7 Skip decides to go fishing. Cat fishing. He made a slip loop outta of an extra leash and headed out the back door for the plastic fence. The cat was still howling and we could here the poor thing in the house. We have an electric box in the back that he stood up and the called the cat over. He lowered the leash and pulled the cat over by her neck. No worries tho she is OK. Kitty is no longer allowed outside. I'm happy I didn't have to go ask for my cat back. That would have sucked.
720 we left. He had a doctors apt and I went to the apartment to get started. I had pick over 100 glow in the dark stars off my living room ceiling, vacuum and toss more stuff. I did get lucky and Skip showed up to clean the oven and fridge. I'm didn't have to do that. I really didn't want to. Ive always made my mom clean my ovens and fridges. LOL . Yea I'm bad. We got everything super clean and I was able to turn the keys in. And as usual the bitch in the office ticked me off. I went in to give her the keys and she asks what I need. I told her I was here to give her my keys to the mailbox and apartment and she asks, " For what?" I had to remind her I gave notice 30 days ago for apartment 150 and we had vacated. She says OH takes the keys and asks if there was a forwarding addy. I then KINDLY reminded her that I had provided one on the notice I had given 30 days ago. Then she dismissed me and that was that. I can't stand that women.
I made it back home by noon, just in time to let Yoshi potty AGAIN and to load him up to see Skip at Carson for a company BBQ that was going on. I have to get my car searched at the gate because its not registered on post. I think every gate guard left their post to come admire the puppy. It was cute. I didn't have a very good idea of where I was going to find the big get together all I knew was to pass the car wash(I know where this is) and turn right when you see tanks. Um, when I see tanks. This is an Army post. There are frickin tanks everywhere. So I of coarse miss my turn by like half a mile. Skip did flag me down on the way back. It was fun. Met the people he works with. Has the best looking dog there. No really, there were 3 REALLY UGLY bull dogs and a boxer puppy that was half Yoshi's size and wasn't very cute. Everybody stopped to pet and say what a beautiful husky I had. I then had to tell them he was an Alaskan malamute. Much better than a husky. Had to watch 2 formations and was shocked at the snail speed those dudes get in line. I told Skip that is was sad and if I was the one calling a formation they would have 30 seconds to get their ass in gear.
We got home about 230 layed in bed for a while and I went and got Aiden. He gets very excited when I ask him if he wants to go home and see Skip. He starts yelling, " Skip's house!!" Its cute. He was passed out by 630. I had to make another trip to Wally World for Coke, speaker wire and a new fan since ours took a turn for the worst today. I also grabbed some water guns. bug repellent candles for the picnic table and some cool little round paper lights for our awning outside. I'm sitting out there now writing this.
All in all the day off was worth it and I'm happy I had the option. Now I have to work 2 10 hour days and an 11 hour on Saturday. I guess I can always hope to be able to leave early.

Monday Mornings
My Mondays aren't really like anybody elses Monday. Mostly because it's not the start of my work week, it's still my weekend. Most Mondays the alarm goes off at 4:30 and Skip gets out of bed and get ready for work. He leaves somewhere between 5 and 5:30, I get a kiss goodbye, the lite goes out and I get to go back to dream land for another 3 1/2 hours usually and then Aiden gets up and we start our day. Those are some good Mondays.
Today is Monday the 22nd of June and it's 5:45 and I am sitting at the table writing a blog about missing my typical Monday. I was up at 12, 3, and then 5 because I have a puppy who has a voice box the size of the state and a pair of lungs that hold all the air in the world!! We've already been potty twice and to the mailbox this morning. He's eatin a big bowl of food and I am hoping it expands and makes him tired BEFORE Aiden gets up because I REALLY wanna go back to sleep. I really really really want to go back to sleep. It's all I can do to keep my eyes open.
I think I would suck if I had to start parenthood all over again. Aiden has spoiled me with his good sleep habits.
