Some answers

I have acid reflux disease. I've had it since I was a child. For the most part I can control it with a bland diet. No sugars, not over eating ect. For 5-6 years now I have had terrible "stomach attacks". I double over in pain, throw up and always have to go to a hospital to get any relief. I'm generally out for the count for about 2 days. Every time I have had to go to the hospital I have had no health insurance and left with no answer other than " It's your reflux."

My last episode was on November 2007(I'm sure there's a blog somewhere) and that was the answer I got yet again and I still had no insurance. I went over a year since Ive had any issues, but I ended up in the hospital yesterday, this time I have health insurance.

I woke up at 430 with Skip almost not able to breath because the center of my stomach, right under my rib cage felt like someone was squeezing it with a vice and stabbing be in the back at the same time. I did my usual of sitting in the bottom of a hot shower to get some relief. Skip had to go to formation and was just feeling awful about leaving me. But in any case I had already alerted my mom(thank gawd for her) and she was ready for the call to take me to the ER if I needed it. AS usual i did nothing but throw up HUGE amounts of stomach acid and nothing got better. So i called mom and she came to get me.

We went to Memorial North simply because I didn't feel like sitting in the waiting room downtown like I have always had to do. I didn't sit in the waiting room for more than 10 seconds before I was wheeled into a room. A nurse was instantly there and within 10 minutes a doctor was at my side asking VERY specific questions about my condition. This is the first time I have seen a doctor for my problem who wasn't just writing a pain script. No Joke. He went very in depth about what my gallbladder, esophagus and stomach could be doing together to cause this kind of issue and ordered an ultra sound to look at my organs. Tons of blood work was done and I got some really great NON NARCOTIC pain drugs administered on my request. There was no argument like I am used to getting. It was nice to be coherent the whole time.

I was there for 7 hours. The doctor came in and started telling me what was going on. My gallbladder has a stone and a small amount of inflammation, tho not enough to cause the pain I was having. He explain to me my esophagus was spasming because of the acid that may have very well caused a fair amount of scare tissue at the opening from my stomach. He says with the years of these episodes and the reflux I have some swelling and damage. I was prescribed NExium to take twice a day to help heal the erosions and clear the excess acid as well as a 14 day regimen of a pill that's sole purpose is to heal my stomach and esophagus. I have to take that 3 times a day and its like a horse pill!!

I know have a referral to see a GI doctor to get a scope done to make sure the scare tissue isn't enough to become cancerous, and receive more treatment for that. I also will need one of those tests where I get to drink the icky fluid and have them look at where it goes and how my organs are digesting it. Yummy.

I will never believe another hospital when they say they treat patients the same wheather they have insurance or not.

Every second counts

They say every second counts. Its tru for a lot of things, heart attacks, fires, car accidents, ect. Well evry second also counts in my job today as I learned the VERY VERY hard way.

We have a set of matrix that get us special bonuses, including a monthly. I made the max monthly bonus of $600 in Apriland was very much on track for May. As a matterof fact so on track that I celebrated with big grins this weekend when I got my final score on Saturday.

Heres how it breaks down. There is a $100, $300 and $600 Monthly Cash Incentive Program,or MCIP.

To get $100 you have to have a genreal OPS score of a 3.3 or higher and no higher than 705 second avarage call time. To get the $300 you have to have a 3.4 or higher with a 600 second or less call time and to get the $600 you have to have an OPS score of 3.5 or greater and 600 seconds or less in average call time.

Now you have to MEET both to get the full amount. Heres an exaple. Lets say you get a 3.53 and your call time is 602 seconds. This means you lose $500 and you only get $100.

Yep, 2 SECONDS loses you $500 bucks. That's what happened to me today. I lost $500 because of 2 seconds. I feel like dying.

ProLifers Going too far

I wont call my self a " Pro-Abortionest" but I definetly believe it's a choice with heavy consequenses and should not be taken lighty. It is after all, killing a living being.

I think the Pro-Lifers need to stop and remember their beliefs. After all most are pro-Life because of "God". Please correct me if I am wrong, but "God" did tell them they arent supposed to kill anybody, right?

RIP to George Tiller, who did nothing but help women who felt the need to make that hard choice.

Next time someone says " pro-life" maybe they need to stop and think about what their really does.

The halfway blog

Well its June.....AGAIN. I think we all get to this month and think, "Wow, where did the other half of the year go." I know I still feel like I am recovering from Christmas.

I was driving home today comparing June time 2008 to what June 2009 is going to be like. I know I as hiking everyday. Not doing that now.

I remember having total short timers syndrome because I knew I had the job at T-mobile and I was putting my notice in! Now I am at T-mobile and thinking it was a great move. I made back to back $600 bonuses for performance April and May. I was spending $600 a month in gas last
year!

I'm not alone in the apartment doing anything I feel like doing. Sometimes I still fell like I am adjusting to that and He's been here for almost 6 months. I have days when I miss the ability to be care free. I have a bed time now.

We will be adding a family member in 20 days, last year the only company I had were late nite friends and World of Warcraft. Oh and don't let me forget the Yahoo messenger.

The tank was alive, beautiful and growing. This year its sold off and parted out to people all over the Springs.

Oh and I guess the biggest change, I'm moving to a house. Its more than twice the size of the lunch box I live in and my son will be home full time. I get to be a real parent again. Talk about an adjustment.

Puppy Bets

Well last nite Skip and I decided we would make bets on how much the puppy was going to weigh this week. We always get a photo on Thursdays. He weighed 6lbs 8oz last week. Skip guessed he would weigh 7lbs 8 oz(that's one pound of growth BTW) and I guessed 7lbs 10 oz. WELL!!! Man were we wrong!!! He's weighing in at a WHOPPING 8lbs 7oz this week! That's a FULL 2 pounds! He's gonna be a monster. I just cant wait! I ordered my gift card from work today to buy our kennel. Next to the dog its the next single most expensive purchase. We have to buy the biggest damn kennel that make and it's gonna cost 160 bucks. BUT it has 3 doors and a divider so it can grow with him, or we can split it in half and put Aiden in the other side......LOL. Kidding......or am I?

Ok so here's our dude this week!! Enjoy the fluffiness.

Well here we are, the 27th of May and HOLY CRAP!!! Where did the time go?

We got confirmation today that we will be getting the keys to the house on the 5th of June and its all ours!! That's only 10 days away. And then 15 days after that we are bringing the puppy home. Aiden is going to be with us full time again. I feel like I have been waiting forever to be a full time parent!

I give the notice for the apartment tomorrow. THANK GAWD! I cant take it here anymore!

I should have a new puppy photo in the next couple of days!!

New puppy update

Well we have a 4 week old puppy pic!! He's is weighing a WHOPPING 6lbs 6oz!! He's growing close to 2 pounds a week now. We have 3 names up for debate at the moment, Happy, Yoshi and Astro. I told Skip I would like to avoid the typical northern name trend that everyone seems to stick with.
